OKTOBERFEST
Oktoberfest is the biggest beer festival in the world and is celebrated all around the world, although the original celebration is held in Munich, Germany. More than 6 million people visit the festival every year and more than 7 million liters of beer is served. Of course we had to be there! We spent seven whole days at the festival, catching up with old travel friends from all over the world, drinking countless pints, dancing on tables and singing along to old classics.

One of the most fun weeks of our travels!
E V E R !
Good to know!
The festival is free
One beer of 1 liter is approx. 12 Eur
Everyone gets dressed up in traditional German outfits, laderhausen for guys and drindls for girls
Accommodation books out very fast and gets very expensive during these weeks so make sure you book your hostel, airBnB or camping in advance!

OR!
Do what we did and use a trainstain locker as a home, lol! Read more about why we had to swap our Air-bnb for a locker here

Our favorite tents were HofBräu (HB), Hacker and Augustiner
The party starts at 10 am and goes on until 11.30 pm
--> Plenty of time to drink
A LOT of beers
For the ultimate backpacker experience, stay at one of the Oktoberfest campgrounds. They host pre- and after parties every day!
The festival area has 14 main tents, each able to fit
between 5,000 and 11,000 people
